Graco is pleased to introduce the latest addition to the Reactor proportioner family, the Reactor IP. This entry-level system, designed for rigid and flexible in-plant polyurethane foam processing applications, will be launched April 28, 2008.
Designed for precision dispensing, the Reactor IP accurately measures the volume of material poured and provides repeatability for consistent parts production.

The Reactor IP is a cost-effective solution to in-plant foam applications and offers the following features:
•
Local control module – allows up to 25 programmable shot settings and five shot sequences.
•
Accurately controls the amount of material you want to dispense
•
Easy clean-up – no gun purging, no solvent flush
•
Easy start-up and shutdown
The Reactor IP is available in two models:
•
Reactor IPH-25 with flow rates of 25 lb/min (11.3 kg/min)
•
Reactor IPH-40 with flow rates of 50 lb/min (22.6 kg/min)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How is the Reactor IP different than traditional Reactor proportioners?
Traditional Reactor proportioners are used in spray foam insulation applications, while the Reactor IP is used in a wide variety of in-plant foam applications such as architectural products, insulation for refrigeration units, or cores for snowboards or surfboards, to name a few.
The Reactor IP bare unit includes a shot controller and linear transducer. There is also a package version that includes a 25 ft hose, a whip hose and an AR gun. Graco will offer two different models, the Reactor IPH-25 and Reactor IPH-40.
How does the shot controller work?
The shot controller works in combination with a linear transducer that is installed on the horizontal pump. The unit can be set as manual or automated. In the automated mode, up to 25 preprogrammed shots and five sequences (a combination of up to 10 shots in a pre-defined order) can be entered into the unit. When the gun is triggered, the pump starts the motion, and the system monitors the exact distance that it needs to move to achieve the pre-set amount. For example, if you set the equipment for a 210 cc shot, then after the gun is triggered, the system will start pouring the material until the desired amount is dispensed.
Can I retrofit the shot controller and linear transducer into an existing 20/35 or Reactor unit?
Yes. The shot controller and linear transducer can be ordered separately and be retrofitted to an existing Reactor H series, or a 20/35 unit. However, this controller will NOT work with E series or A series equipment.
When the unit will be available for sale?
We will start shipping the units on April 24, 2008.
We encourage you to pre-order the unit at your earliest convenience.
Which pour guns does the Reactor IP support?
The AR-C and AR-D guns. The AR-C gun was updated to be able to communicate with the Reactor IP unit. It also has a new PN. There is also a conversion kit to convert the AR-C to an AR-D.
Do GX-10, GX-7 or GX-14 guns work with this unit?
Yes, they all work with the unit, as long as the gun has an electrical trigger, and a solenoid valve. The GX-14 will require a separate hydraulic unit not included in the system.
Is the TX-50 still available?
The TX-50 will be discontinued.
Can I replace an existing TX-50 with the new shot controller?
In most cases, the new shot controller and linear transducer will replace an existing TX-50.
